This body of traditional film barn photography studies the form, character and journey of the Black and White Barn.
Discover
Photographed in Central Vermont, “Discover” embodies the unknown, the distant past or the adventured present. Part of a greater body of work, “Paths to Somewhere”
The Hollow
I had always admired the relationship of the distant mountains, to the sloped barn, to the birthing birch tree. After a blizzard of snow set into this Dorset Vermont Hollow, I knew by natures perfection, that the moment had come.
Drifted
The clean beauty in the lines of a fresh snowfall. “Drifted” photographed in Central Vermont using Ilford Film.
The Awakening
Using a sensitive and surreal film, I photographed “The Awakening” in the rising day. Central Vermont
Weathered
“Weathered” breathes character and endurance from the storm. Photographed on the Gaspe Peninsula, Canada.
In Pursuit of Trouble
“In Pursuit of Trouble”. In a distant village of Peru, with more animals roaming then people, it was as if the piglets were running from something, each with it’s own expression. The three little pigs on the run!
Cross Roads
I photographed “Cross Roads” using one of my favorite films, Kodak HIE to better establish the mood in the landscape, and the relationship of the path, barn and dream like surroundings.
Closed Doors
In a distant and remote land in the mountains of Peru, I came across the “Closed Doors”. I’m an appreciator of primitive architecture, passageways and metaphors.
Drift
The clean beauty in the lines of a fresh snowfall. “Drift” photographed in Central Vermont using Ilford Film.
Carrie Howe Sap House
“Carrie Howe Sap House” photographed only minutes from my studio in Central Vermont. The aged maple sugaring operation.
